Cumbria was made for growing trees. Fertile, mineral rich, temperate and lots of rain. Lots of it. Massive Oaks, knarled Ash, Wych Elm survivors, Alder carrs and Yews older than some civilisations grow here undisturbed.

It is obviously unthinkable to use these ancient specimens for something as mundane as timber, we do however, make use of fallen, dead and unsafe trees. Being situated on the historic Castletown Estate, we also make use of trees felled as part of their ongoing conservation programme, improving habitats by replanting with species more suited to wildlife.

This is where we turn the most sustainable timber anywhere into the most beautiful floors anywhere.
